Abstracts And Poster Presentations
The Abstract Selection Committee invites interested persons to submit abstracts for poster presentations. Abstracts must contain in the maximum 300 words, space 1, Times New Roman, edges of 2 centimeters. Each author will have the right to the send two abstracts as first author, limitless the number of co-authors. The title of the abstract must be brief and indicative of the real object of work, in capital letters. The name of the authors must come in the following space, with capital letters only in the initials, followed by the institution. E-mail address must be written only in the name of the main author.
Abstracts are reviewed by committee and selected based on community interest, quality of data and contribution to the overall program. Abstracts accepted by the scientific commission must be presented in poster form, size 1m x 0,90 cm.

Papers Submission
"The I SBSD/SIDC will accept up to 1 (one) paper per registrant, being the paper to the special edition of the “Arquivos de Ciências do Mar”, published by Instituto de Ciências do Mar/UFC, in Portuguese, OR to the special edition of the "Journal of Coastal Research", in English.
The paper to the special edition of "Arquivos de Ciências do Mar" must have from 5 to 10 pages, following the abstracts specifications and formatting:

It is requested that all abstracts are submitted on diskettes, page set up A4, in
Arial size 12 font, Microsoft Word format 6.0, together with two copies printed.
The conventional structure of scientific articles must be adopted: Title, Resume
and Abstract, with key words, Introduction, Material and Methods, Results, Discussion
and References.
Title – must be brief and indicative to the real purpose
of the work, in capital letters, (followed by its translation to English).
Authors – Names should appear with capitalisation
used only in the initials, followed by superscript numbers as called for the
baseboard, where must be quoted: position, institution of origin, condition
of scholarship holder of CNPq, CAPES or other organizations and email.
Resume– in portuguese, maximum of 200 words, without paragraphs. It must be
concise and clear, standing out the most important results.
Abstract – in English, with the same characteristics of the Resume.
Key words – to be placed followed by the Resume and Abstract, maximum of 8 words.
Introduction – it must establish clearly the objective of
the work, relating it with others of the same category and presenting in a brief form
the situation it finds the problem investigated. Extensive revisions of literature
must be replaced by references to the most recent works where such revisions have been presented.
Material and Methods – the description of used methods
must be limited to the sufficient, to make possible the perfect understanding of
the same; processes and techniques already described in other works must only be
cited, unless they have been sufficiently modified.
Results – must be presented clearly and, always
when necessary, followed to suitable figures, tables and illustrative material.
Discussion – must be restrictes to the evaluation of the
results obtained and its possible causes and consequences, relating the new contributions
to the previous knowledge. Avoid hypotheses or generalizations not established in the
results of the work.
References – must be presented in alphabetical order by
surname of the author and, in case of repetition of the authorship, orderly
temporary. To follow, the norms for the diverse types of contribution and respective examples.

- Illustrations – all illustrative material (graphs, fotographies, drawings, maps)must be assigned in the text as “Figure”, with sequential numeration in Arabian numbers. The legends must be self-explanatory and typed in leaf apart. The illustrations must be identified with the indication of the name of the author and shortened title of the article. The letters and numbers of the figures must be big enough to allow a reduction that does not become them unreadable.
- Charts – must have sequential numeration in Roman numbers, self-explanatory title and, if necessary, placed legend as baseboard, pointed in the text for its understanding. Appreciation of the work –All abstracts will be reviewed by the Program Committee. The opinions of the reviewers will be directed to the authors, together with the originals, so that will be possible to do the proper corrections.
JCR Rules
Papers, after review process, can be published in English, in a special section inside of normal edition of "Journal of Coastal Research". Their must follow the rules:
